In my last project, I built a little 3d printed caterpillar robot called “BoboBot”. (Take a look!)

BoboBOT playing Sokoban!

Now, I’ve done a simple Android application to control it by means a bluetooth conection.

The app has four press buttons, one for each moving direction: left, right, up and down.
In the bottom is located the device selector and the connect button.

After downloading and installing the app, you must check if your bluetooth modem has recognized and can link with the BoboBot’s bluetooth device. You must do this, at least the first time you connect a new bluetooth device. The password is usually “1234”.

Then, switch on the BoboBOT, enable the bluetooth conection in your smartphone, launch the app, select a bluetooth from the available device list and press the connection button. This button will change from red to green color to notify you that the robot is now ready to be controlled. Press the direction buttons and check that the robot can move!:)

Check the video to learn use it.
